![]() I think it has a lot to do with my type, and being a little more of a Feeler I enjoy music, as this stimulates my emotions.A stunning and elegant 150th Anniversary Edition of Whitman's celebrated Civil War poems, accompanied by moving photographs and artwork shedding new light on this tragic but significant chapter in American history. INFJ's are usually more on the creative side, and I am definitely no exception to this. I play violin, but I really enjoy hearing piano and cello solos as well. Also, though I know it sounds very generic, I love songs with very deep and powerful meanings. I really love singers that are more on the operatic side. I can't really think of anything else that stands out to me. As long as it has a good beat, pretty much, I like listening to it. Though I primarily listen to metal, I like some pop songs and lots of classical music. Truly, though, my taste is pretty diverse. Symphonic metal is my favorite, but I have a few other genres of metal I delve into (lately, pagan metal has gotten my interest). I form my opinions on music based on the personal feelings I get as I experience listening to it. That would make sense here, because the way I listen to and perceive music seems pretty Fi and Se oriented. How do you think this all relates back to your type? But I have an appreciation for every musical instrument out there, and I think that all of them can be used in such creative ways that can apply to my favorite genres. My favorite instruments are the ones prominent in rock and metal (guitar, bass, drums). I used to play clarinet and alto saxophone. What kinds of instruments do you like/play? Sometimes I want to listen to something I liked as a kid just for the nostalgic value. Sometimes I just want something mindlessly fun because I'm bored as hell, other times I want to sit and think and listen to something with melancholy lyrics to match my mood. The way I choose music heavily depends on my mood. Metal songs with softer melodic parts that somehow combine with more chaotic and abrasive sounds are often what I go for. I appreciate a lot of contrasts in my music. I find that I prefer music that has some sort of aggressiveness/angsty-ness to it, yet still have a distinct melody. What qualities do you look for in songs and musicians? (Though there are exceptions, "Dante's Inferno" by Iced Earth and "Clandestiny Now" by Solution. (I can't handle ambient and post-rock, for example.) Also, I don't really like to listen to songs that are over ten minutes long. I guess I have a short attention span and I'm not fond of slow-moving tracks. I am repelled by music where it sounds like the musicians aren't even trying, if that makes sense. I don't like music that is heavily electronic. I may have specific genre preferences, but I think there would be at least one song I like from almost every genre that exists. Sometimes I enjoy musicals, as well as a bit of pop music. ![]() I like a lot of alternative and hard rock music as well. My favorite genre is metal, and my favorite subgenres of it are melodeath, gothic metal, power metal, and alternative metal. I really do hope that my answers are understandable.
